Rossini at the Kennedy Center

Last night I took my wife to the Kennedy Center for the National Symphony Orchestra performance; something I should really make time to do more often. The opening piece was Rossini's overture to La Gazza Ladra, and it was spectacular. The video above is of the same piece, but performed by the Vienna Philharmonic about ten years ago.

One note on attending concerts at the Kennedy Center: While there is no enforced dress code – and, by all means, the most important thing is that you attend – people often ask what would be appropriate to wear. The easiest way to answer that question is to simply wear what you would to church. Unless, of course, you're an evangelical.
